Tributaries & Branches of Padma River

The Padma river has some tributaries.The major tributaries of  Padma river are Mohananda and the Kopatakkho river.The Ganges is flowing to Bay of Bengal through India and entering Bangladesh at Shibganj in the district of Chapai Nababganj.When ganges enters Bangladesh ,it is known as Padma river.In Chapai Nababganj ,the tributary of the Padma river is known as the Mohananda river.The length of the Mohananda river is 84km,the width is 300m and the depth is 10m.In Jessore,the tributary of Padma river is known as Kopatakkho river.The length of this river is 180km, the width is 150m and the depth is 5m.

There are also some branches river of Padma.They are the Mathavanga,the Boral,the Kumar,the Gorai,the Madhumati,the Vairab and the Arial kha .The Mathavanga is flowing through the Chuadanga district which is part of Khulna Administrative division.
