The Feni River

The Feni river originates in SouthTripura district and flows through Sabroom town and then enters in Bangladesh.The length of this river is 80km ,the width is 150m and the depth is 10m.A little Feni river that means Muhuri river from Noakhali district joints it near its mouth.According to statement on sharing of river waters with Bangladesh ,released by India ,''Feni river has been added to its mandate in the 36th JRC meeting.A dicision was taken in the meeting that the MWR of both countries would visit the sites wher developmental  works have been held up.According to statement of Pakistani reporter,it say,India is trying to withdraw water from Feni river for irrigation projects in exchange of resolving erosion problem in Bangladesh side of this bordering river.A bridge is to be built over the Feni river to link up with Tripura .The bridge construction has began in December 2010 for the 150m link between Sabroom and Ramgarh.It is the only land link between India's eastern states and it's western states other than through Assam.
